US 17/SC 707 Interchange [ Projected Development ]

Description: Construction of a grade-separated interchange at the existing US 17/SC 707 intersection at the backgate of the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base.

Status: Utility relocations on the east side of US 17 are ongoing. Right-of-way negotiations with affected property owners are drawing to a conclusion. The letting of this project has been moved to February 2011 in order to apply for federal match funding to assist with paying for construction costs that exceed the original budget.

Preliminary Design: Fall 2007 - Summer 2009
Right-of-way acquisition Summer 2009 - Summer 2010
Construction Spring 2011 – Fall 2014
